Transitioning Your Business or Agri-Business to the Next Generation
April 19, 2016To Probate or not to Probate?
April 21, 2016Litigation is the word used to describe the procedure for a claim in court. In Alberta, more than 98% of claims that are filed in court are settled before a trial in front of a judge. All court claims begin with a written statement setting out your claim and this is filed in court.
After your claim is filed, there are a series of legal steps that move you through the court process to trial. In Alberta, one of the steps you must take before trial is a mandatory mediation to try to settle your claim. Taking this step early on in your court claim may be less expensive and take less time.
Our Civil Litigation Team can help you to try to resolve your matter in mediation and if this is not possible, we can effectively represent your claim in court.
