Les works with families to help them transition their wealth to their loved ones. Les believes it is important to help people identify their hopes and goals for their estate plan. Les listens to understand people, to help them build an estate plan that works. He also helps people identify any tax, business, marital, creditor and other risks. Les works with accountants and financial planners, to help people protect their wealth and manage these risks. Les helps people who have complicated family situations or assets. Les’ background in court helps him design estate plans that reduce the risk of court challenges. Les is a skilled mediator and negotiator who uses these skills to help people transition their wealth in an efficient and respectful manner.
Les’ preferred areas of practice are Life Planning (Wills), Estate Administration, Alternate Dispute Resolution (including Mediation and Collaborative Law), Business Law, Agri-Business Law and Real Estate. Les was admitted to the Bar of the Law Society of Alberta in 1994. He was an articling student and associate with Gordon, Smith & Company in Medicine Hat from 1993 – 2004. Les joined Pritchard and Company LLP as an associate in 2005 and became a partner in 2007. Les regularly attends our satellite office in Brooks.
